New Storm wind turbine is now visible beside the E17 in Berlare.

For the past few months, we have been building a new wind turbine beside the E17 in Berlare. The opposite neighbour of Lokeren Wind Farm was a challenge from a construction point of view: the wind turbine base is underwater. The work on the foundation in the lake was completed at the end of February. After that, the large components were delivered, and construction started on the tower. The majority of parts were delivered using the E17. The road was partially closed for several nights to ensure that the parts could be delivered safely.

The wind turbine is now fully erected, and testing is in progress. The turbine is already producing plenty of electricity during the trials.
