Strong turnout for Open Construction Day at Mourcourt wind farm
Last Sunday, around 270 local residents and other interested visitors attended the Open Construction Day at the site of the future Mourcourt wind farm. Storm organised the event together with citizen cooperative CLEF (Coopérative pour les Energies du Futur).
Under a pleasant summer sun, visitors had the opportunity to see the components of the future wind turbines up close. The impressive blades and nacelle attracted particular attention. For the occasion, the nacelle was also opened, giving visitors a chance to take a look inside.
During the visit, the Storm and CLEF teams provided more information about the construction of the wind farm, how wind energy works and the opportunities for citizen participation through CLEF. The strong turnout and many questions show that there is considerable interest in the project and the development of renewable energy in the region.
Renewable electricity for 6,900 households
The Mourcourt wind farm will consist of three wind turbines. The various turbine components will be assembled over the coming weeks. From spring 2027 onwards, the wind farm will generate enough renewable electricity each year to power approximately 6,900 households.
