As Head of Legal & Compliance you will lead Storm's legal function. You will combine strategic legal advice with a hands-on approach and manage a team of three legal professionals.
As a trusted business partner, you will advise the various business units and senior management on legal, transactional, and compliance issues.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and support projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from development to commercial operation.
You will report directly to the CFO and be part of the Finance & Legal business unit.

What are your responsibilities?
- You will lead and coach a team of three legal professionals and ensure efficient legal support throughout the organization.
- You will further develop the legal team and its operations in line with Storm's growth and needs.
- You are the central point of contact for all legal and compliance-related matters within the organization.
- You provide practical and strategic legal advice throughout the entire project lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to management, investors, banks, and other stakeholders.
- You collaborate with a network of specialized law firms and oversee the coordination, quality, and follow-up of these partnerships.
- You coordinate and support corporate and financial transactions, including share transactions, project financing, and joint ventures, in collaboration with external advisors.
- You draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of agreements: shareholder agreements, loans and securities, real estate agreements and property rights, commercial contracts, and construction contracts.
- You hold ultimate responsibility for corporate governance for more than 100 legal entities within the group, including corporate housekeeping, capital transactions, statutory obligations, UBO, and AML.
- You lead compliance initiatives and further strengthen the group's GDPR compliance program .
- You continue to optimize and professionalize the legal department, including through digitalization, standardized processes, and organization-wide templates.
- You identify and implement opportunities to strengthen the legal function, for example through Legal Tech and Legal AI.
- You monitor and coordinate major legal disputes and proceedings.
- You maintain and further develop the framework for external legal counsel, including collaboration guidelines and cost policies.
Is this your professional zodiac sign?
- You are passionate about renewable energy and are eager to make a constructive contribution to the field.
- You hold a Belgian Master’s degree in Law.
- You have at least 12 years of relevant experience, preferably as a senior in-house counsel and/or as a lawyer at a reputable law firm.
- Experience managing a small legal team is a strong asset. Equally important are your peopleskills and your ability to help others grow.
- You have strong expertise in corporate law, commercial and contract law, realestate law, financial law and liability law.
- You have demonstrable experience coordinating transactions and are highly skilled in contract drafting and negotiation.
- You combine legal precision with sound business acumen: you are solution-oriented,pragmatic and close to the business.
- You are an effective communicator, proactive and comfortable engaging at every level of the organisation.
- You thrive in a fast-growing, changing environment and are also willing to take ownership of operational matters.
- You are fluent in Dutch and have professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of French is an advantage.

In recent years, our focus has mainly been on wind energy. Now that we have more than 55 wind turbines in operation, we are broadening our scope to other areas where we can accelerate the energy transition.
