Battery park

Ruien

In Ruien (Kluisbergen), Storm is developing a large-scale battery park on the site of the former coal-fired power plant. The project will have a capacity of 200 MW and a storage capacity of 800 MWh, making it one of the largest battery parks in Europe. The park will cover an area of more than three hectares and consists of 180 lithium-ion battery units supplied and installed by Tesla. Thanks to this storage capacity, renewable energy can be used more efficiently and the electricity grid is better balanced. The commissioning of the battery park is scheduled in the autumn of 2027.
