Battery park

Langerlo

In Langerlo (Genk), Storm is developing a battery park with a capacity of 100 MW and a storage capacity of 400 MWh. The project is being built on an area of almost two hectares in the port of Genk-Zuid. The park will be connected to the transmission network via the existing high-voltage connection to the former Langerlo coal-fired power plant. Just like in Ruien, Storm uses Tesla lithium-ion battery units, which are supplied and installed by the manufacturer. The battery park is scheduled to be put into use in the summer of 2027.
